My prize!

Imagine my surprise when I entered my house yesterday after work. Recently I entered a contest on ILF and I won this amazing travel trolley by Bagsac.
I'm really glad cause it's actually something I can really use a lot. Hopefully I will go to Italy, maybe Paris with some friends and this thing is really good thing to own.
Btw, isn't stylish? Now I'm able to travel in style, I really like the color and the crocodile print.
This trolley also has a lot of handy features like huge pocket space with extra room for clothes. Bagsac is a bag brand who recently expended their line to travel bags.

Wat was ik aangenaam verrast gisteren toen ik thuiskwam van 't werk. Een levensgroot pakketje stond me op te wachten. Ik had 'm gewonnen! Paar dagen geleden deed ik mee aan een winactie van ILF, en tot mijn plezier won ik nog ook! Voor wie I love fashionnews nog niet kent; hier vind je de laatste mode nieuwtjes, trends en dus ook prijsvragen. Zeker de moeite waard!

Bagsac heeft sinds een tijdje zijn collectie ook uitgebreid naar reistassen en trolleys.
Ik vind de kleur helemaal geweldig en de krokodillen print geeft het geheel een chique uitstraling! Altijd fijn om iets te winnen, maar helemaal als het iets is wat echt handig is en je vaak kunt gebruiken. Deze gaat dus zeker van pas komen als ik in augustus naar Italië ga en misschien ook nog naar Parijs.

ELF heeft een heel uitgebreid assortiment aan oogschaduw, lipgloss en foundation. Het is haast onmogelijk om te kiezen!

Look a likes!

I came across this picture of the Anaconda pumps by Givenchy and I realised they are so much like my pumps that I got! Check out the comparison...
I really like the snake detailed print, I think it's edgy. I like to combine my pumps mostly with blue or black jeans. Also with a dress it looks fantastic. Today, I actually wanted to take full front pictures so I can show you my style. But unfortunately I'm not feeling very well, so I'd have to just show you these pictures..
What do you think? Btw, I also ordered them in purple, can't wait till they arrive! I bought them at the store I work.

Favorite Style icon #2

We all come to knew and love (or hate) her in the MTV-series The City. This socialite is very outspoken as well as on camera as in real life. I love Olivia Palermo's fashion style!
Why? Simple. She has a sort of preppy, chic style which is something I like to wear myself.
Sort of like Blair Waldorf only more fashion forward. Also I love how she mixes couture with budget, this wealthy fashionlista is spotted a lot of times wearing Zara or Topshop as well. Her main focus is shoes and bags, but she keeps her looks simple. She is not overstyled or wears too many jewellery. Her style secret is definitly: less is more.
The gilet and the belt are definitly my favorite, Olivia once said in an interview. You can mix and match them and easily turn a day look into a night look.
And did you see her appartment? I love her NY appartment as well. She has a vintage Hèrmes service tray (on the table) and I love the neutral color furniture. Did you notice the Audrey Hepburn picture near the window? And her fashion closet is to die for, wish I owned one like that!

What do you think about her fashionsense?

We kennen haar allemaal als de bitch van MTV The City. Zoals we weten neemt miss Palermo geen blad voor de mond, maar is haar fashion stijl net zo uitgesproken?
Olivia's stijl is het beste te omschrijven als chic en netjes en kak (preppy). Ik vind haar stijl echt geweldig! Waarom? Haar stijl is eigenlijk heel simpel, vaak draagt ze een mooie jeans, top, blazer en torenhoge hakken. Ze weet een simpele look heel elegant te maken door een paar opvallende schoenen of een mooie tas erbij te dragen. Haar stijl spreekt me erg aan omdat het qua stijl erg in de buurt komt van wat ik graag draag. De socialite combineert de mooiste haute couture kledingstukken met budget! Regelmatig wordt ze gespot met kleding of schoenen van de Zara of Topshop. Toch best leuk dat ze dat doet, ondanks dat ze bakken vol geld heeft. Haar favoriete stijl items zijn het 'heren' gilet en de taille riem. Je kunt ze overal mee combineren, zei Olivia recentelijk in een interview. En gelijk heeft ze!
En natuurlijk heb je vast wel eens haar appartement zien langskomen in The City.
Ook hieruit blijkt dat Miss Palermo goede smaak heeft. En wat dacht je van haar inloopkast! Hij is niet zo heel groot (maar ja, het is dan ook een appartement) maar wel vol met hebbedingen! Zucht, geef mij ook zo'n kast....

I'm also looking forward to go see Eat, Pray, Love, the movie based on the book by Elizabeth Gilbert, and Twilight: Eclipse, which opens in theaters in Holland by the end of this month.

Out with the old, in with the new!

Between finishing my final assignments and working I found a little time to do some shoe-shopping. I love clothes and accessoires, but my biggest addiction is shoes (and bags).
Although I haven't got as many as I would want yet (aiming for over 100 pairs) I do bought a few new additions I'd like to show you guys. The first pair, are the black heels by Invito. When I spotted them I fell in love, they remind me of the shoes at the Balmain show. Love them. The second pair will become my summer 'work' shoes. To pay for my expenses I have a little job on the side, I work a few hours a week at a shoe store, where I get a 40% discount as an employee! As you can imagine, that is heavenly! I like the stones. They are flat but still very comfortable. I want to combine them with my Essie Missmatched nailpolish. The third pair I bought are some cute flats with a touch of snake design. The white/beige color is perfectly neutral so I can combine it with a lot of skirts. I love ballerina flats, they are elegant and comfortable and they look cute with a skirt and with pants.
I can't wait to show you guys pictures of me where I will combine the shoes with my clothes.

Tussen de bedrijven door, vond ik wat tijd om even snel te gaan winkelen. Het is de laatste tijd zo'n drukke tijd met school, dat ik amper tijd heb om te winkelen. Schande! Dus op de terugweg van school maakte ik even een tussenstop om wat mooie schoentjes aan mijn collectie toe te voegen. Het eerste paar dat ik kocht, zijn de zwarte hoge pumps met studs van Invito. Ik was er meteen weg van toen ik ze zag, ze doen me denken aan de schoenen uit de Balmain modeshow. Het tweede paar zijn voor het gemak mijn zomer slippers om op te werken. Ik heb een bijbaantje naast mijn studie in een schoenenwinkel waar ik 40% personeelskorting krijg. Heerlijk! Ik vond de stenen erg leuk en het wit is lekker zomers.
Tot slot kocht ik nog een paar snake ballerina's. De neutrale kleur is perfect te combineren met veel kleren. Ballerina's zijn mijn favo platte schoenen, omdat ze leuk staan onder een broek of een rokje. Meestal draag ik het meeste hakken omdat ik klein van stuk ben, maar om mijn voetjes wat rust te gunnen heb ik dus ook platte schoenen. Binnenkort post ik wel pics van mijn complete collectie plus foto's waarop ik laat zien hoe ik de schoenen het liefst combineer (welke outfits dus).

Hi people!

Excuse me for not updating everyday, but this week has been too busy. As you guys know, I'm a student and the year has almost come to it's end. I study Media and Information Management in Amsterdam (University of Applied Sciences), which basicly means I'm educated to become a editor for either television, radio, magazines or online. I'm in my third year right now and I hope to finish next year.
Guess you guys can guess what that means: stress! Deadlines and assignments to finish, it's driving me nuts! So I'd like to wish you guys a great weekend and a happy fathersday! thank you for visiting. Keep visiting though, cause later this week I will be free from my duties and full on to the blog! So bare with me, for just a little longer!

Hi mensen,

Sorry dat ik niet echt frequent update, maar zoals jullie misschien wel weten studeer ik en momenteel is het echt even gekkenhuis. Afgelopen weken heb ik de meeste aandacht moeten vestigen op de laatste loodjes. En dat betekent: stress! Heel veel opdrachten die afgemaakt moeten worden en strenge deadlines. Ik studeer trouwens Media- en Informatie Management aan de Hogeschool van Amsterdam.
Maar goed, ik wil al mijn bezoekers een heel fijn weekend wensen én een fijne vaderdag! Blijf komen, want vanaf eind deze week ga ik weer meer posten. En dat is echt de moeite waard. Ik zal jullie onder andere een kijkje gunnen in mijn schoenenkast! Nog eventjes geduld dus!

Lifestyle: Jill Stuart's penthouse

Besides fashion, accessories and beauty my other passion is decorating. For a long time I wanted to become a interior decorator but since my mathematics isn't my best quality I had to let go of that future perspective. But I never stopped caring for design. In Elle Decor they shot beautiful pictures of the Manhattan penthouse of fashion designer Jill Stuart. I love the way she decorated it. Okay, truth be told it was decorated by Selldorf Architects. But since she is a designer herself, I can't imagine she didn't have a say in it.

Although the penthouse shows a lot of white (which I think is risky in a house) I love how there is such great attention for details. The pastel colors make the house look neutral.
Here and there are a flash of art, like the beautiful painting in the livingroom. The only thing I did not really like is the sofa in front of the fireplace. It's seems static and uncomfortable, so I do not understand why she did not put a nice chaise-longue in front of it.

What type of decorating do you like?

Naast mode, beauty en accessoires is mijn andere passie decoreren. Als in kamers, dus.
Ooit, voordat ik aan mijn media/schrijfopleiding begon wilde ik ontzettend graag binnenhuis architect worden. Als klein meisje keek ik elk weekend woonprogramma's en heb ik velen tekenblokken volgeklad met interieurs. Ik ben zelfs wezen kijken op een opleiding voor interieurdesign. Helaas mocht het niet zo zijn, laten we zeggen dat wiskunde niet mijn sterkste kant is. Toch heb ik altijd een zwak blijven houden voor de inrichting van huizen.

In Elle Decor kwam ik een prachtige foto-reportage tegen van het Manhattan penthouse van mode ontwerpster Jill Stuart. Hoewel ze het ontwerpen eigenlijk heeft overgelaten aan Selldorf Architects neem ik aan dat ze als designer wel haar stempel heeft weten te drukken op het proces van het inrichten. Ik ben aangenaam verrast door wat ik zie. Hoewel er veel wit en nude kleurige meubels zijn te zien -wat ik altijd een beetje riskant vind, i.v.m. vlekken- oogt het allemaal toch heel klassiek en ademt het geheel een serene rust uit.
Voor het contrast vind ik de mooie kunstwerken een welkome aanvulling. Het zorgt voor de nodige dynamiek en steekt mooi af bij de neutrale pasteltinten.
Wat ik alleen niet zo goed snap is die bank voor de openhaard. Afgezien dat ik 'm niet mooi vind, lijkt het mij ook een statisch geval waar je niet lekker op kunt zitten. Ik zou in haar geval hebben gekozen voor een stylish chaise-longue, ideale zitplek voor een knapperend haardvuur.

Party in a bottle!

Wow! Isn't this lovely? I really sometimes wished I lived in Italy.
In collaboration fashion label Moschino and Coca- Cola came up with these lovely bottles.
It's a contribution to the Tribute To Fashion charity project for the Abruzzo Region, organised by Coca-Cola Italia in conjunction with the Municipality of Milan.

Wat een schatjes zijn het! Soms zou ik willen dat ik in Italië woonde. Het land waar kunst, cultuur en vooral schoonheid de overhand heeft. In samenwerking met Coca-Cola ontwierp Moschino limited edition Coca-Cola flesjes. De samenwerking kwam tot stand als eerbetoon aan het Tribute to Fashion liefdadigheidsproject, georganiseerd door de Italiaanse divisie van Coca-Cola. Isn't she absolutely gorgeous? I'm absolutely addicted to Gossip Girl. Not just when I saw the first episode of the show, no, way before! When I bought the first book (which the tv-series are originaly based on the book series by Cecily von Ziegesar) I was hooked, forever. Now I have all the books in my collection. Love them!


Usually I'm not a great fan of translating books into tv-series or movies
cause I think they ruin the magic by casting people who don't match the character. Well, for Serena van der Woodsen, they couldn't have done a better job by casting Blake Lively. The 22-year old has off and on screen amazing sense of style! She is often seen in the most beautiful outfits, and since she became very populair thanks to GG, she also gets clothes send to her by all the famous designers. Lucky girl!

So it was no surprise that she covered the current issue of Vogue (again!) She is just stunning! But what I like the most about here is her sparkling, charming character. Whether it's a tv-interview or an interview in a magazine, Blake seems always happy and down to earth. She has also like the perfect figure, curvy and she has very long legs. I like how she plays with accessoiries and how she matches her bags with her boots. According to GG-stylist Eric Damon, is Blake's style almost equal to her character SvdW. And so she often brings a bag or jewellery to the set that can be used perfectly for her role as Serena.
For the Vogue-shoot she was photographed by Mario Testino and I love the surf-sun-beach-look.

I can't hardly wait for season 4 to start, to see what Serena/Blake will be wearing then!
